The XLS trim includes power windows and locks, styled steel wheels and single-CD audio system. The XLT adds aluminum wheels, power mirrors, a cassette/CD audio system, remote keyless entry, a tilting steering wheel and speed control. The Explorer Sport's smooth, balanced ride is achieved by using a two-stage variable-rate taper leaf spring suspension in the rear. Safety is a priority feature with the Explorer Sport. Along with its sturdy frame, the Explorer Sport is also given dual front air bags and antilock 4-wheel disc brakes. Limited-slip differential is one of the powertrain enhancements offered as an option for 2003.
For entertainment, XLT and XLT Premium owners can add a Pioneer AM/FM/cassette/CD player.
