2011 Trucks and SUV’s to Keep an Eye On
There are many people out there that need more bigger vehicles, however, also want those vehicles that have higher fuel mileage than years ago. It is wanting the best of both worlds and for the past few years this has been mainly a dream, which meant that those driving trucks and SUV's, simply had to do without the gas saving technology that was taking over the car market. But, 2011 seems to be the turning point for those that are wanting this. There are several 2011 SUV's and trucks that are being offered that have increased their fuel mileage, and could be worth looking at for the consumer.
The 2011 Cadillac Escalade Hybrid is an option for those that are wanting style, luxury and size, but still want to get decent gas mileage. Though the SUV is only getting around twenty one miles per gallon, this is a huge increase over past years when the SUV got around fourteen miles per gallon. The SUV is going to cost people a pretty penny, with going for over $70,000 for the SUV, however, those that are interested are going to save money in the end with fewer trips to the gas pump.
General Motors is offering the consumer market the GMC Sierra 1500 Hybrid and the Chevrolet Silverado Hybrid, which are nearly identical. These two trucks are getting around 40% more fuel mileage from past models, which is a huge increase for those that drive these and know just how many trips to the gas pump that they make. Both of the trucks will rely on a battery to operate when going under thirty miles per hour. However, size has not been sacrificed, these are just as big as they ever were, with the benefit of better fuel mileage.
For those that are looking for SUV's, General Motors is offering the Chevrolet Tahoe and the GMC Yukon which are getting far better gas mileage than past generations. However, along with that fuel mileage increase comes an increased price tag that many people are a bit hesitant with. Though, both SUV's are offering some of the biggest room that is available when it comes to a vehicle.
For those that would consider hybrid, the 2011 Volkswagen Touareg Hybrid is going to be one to keep on the list. However, gas mileage wise most people are still not impressed since it is only offering twenty-three miles per gallon. However, given that it is German engineering, most people are eager to try this hybrid out and see what it can do.
Probably the Cinderella story of the SUV's, is the Ford Escape Hybrid that is boasting on average thirty two miles per gallon. This is some of the highest fuel mileage that people can find, and most are taking notice. The company has not reduced the size of the Escape, just the technology that they are using to get these to perform at high efficiency levels. In addition since it is still costing less than many other SUV's that are out there, people are standing up and paying attention.
