The Chevy Monte Carlo is one of the cars that was offered by Chevrolet that had a definite following of car enthusiasts out there. Upon its first introduction in 1970, most people found that the car was something that they wanted, simply because it was so sporty. The model was based off of the Cadillac Eldorado and the Chevelle during its first generation. The person is going to find that during the first generation that not many people expected the Chevy Monte Carlo to go that far, however, that were definitely wrong, as this car is one that most people recognize by sight, even if they are not car enthusiasts. During the first year, the Chevy Monte Carlo was in short supply since the factory was on strike, which just made them something that more and more people wanted. For the following two years, not many changes were made to the car, during what they have called the first generation.
The second generation of the Chevy Monte Carlo starting in 1973, and the most dominant thing that people could see change with the new generation is the fact that they changed the car to a pillared coupe, which was the style of the time. They also help to improve the noise reduction system on the car and help with safety should the car roll over in an accident. The second generation of the car continued until 1978, when the introduction of the third generation of the Chevy Monte Carlo started.
The third generation of the Chevy Monte Carlo lasted from 1978 to 1980 in which during this time, people saw the Chevy Monte Carlo downsize. This was due to the fact that people were wanting smaller cars to deal with the high price of gas at the time and overall feelings towards those larger cars were slowly disappearing.
The fourth generation of the Chevy Monte Carlo did some sign changes to the body style in that it took on the same appearance as the Buick Cutlass and the Pontiac Grand Prix during this time. The fourth generation starting in 1981 and went to 1988, during the time it saw some minor changes, yet it stayed pretty similar to the Cutlass and Grand Prix, and once again proved itself to be a great car to consider buying.
After 1988, the name of the Chevy Monte Carlo was gone, and the person will find that it was not until 1995 that they saw the Chevy Monte Carlo come back onto the market for consumers to buy. And during this time most people were eager to see the changes and to see how much the beloved Chevy Monte Carlo had been changed. The fifth generation started in 1995 and went until 1999. The Monte Carlo name was given to the coupe version of the Chevrolet Lumina, which was a bit of a disappointment to many people out there.
The sixth generation from 2000 to 2007, were the years in which the Chevy Monte Carlo went back to its roots and became the car that people wanted to see. But finally, the company retired the model in 2007.

The Chevrolet Equinox first appeared on the scene in 2004 for the upcoming 2005 model year. This was Chevrolet's answer to replace their smaller SUV, the Tracker. The Equinox was not only the replacement for the Tracker, but was also Chevrolet's way of entering the smaller crossover SUV that was becoming popular. The reason is that main competitors such as Chrysler, Mazda and other automakers were coming out with their own crossovers, and the public was taking notice, purchasing these vehicles to replace their gas guzzlers.
The gas mileage of the Chevrolet Equinox is probably the main reason why this vehicle is such as good seller for the company. The first generation of the Chevrolet Equinox contains the model years from 2005 to 2009. The second generation begins with the 2010 models. The gas mileage for the Equinox as a whole is anywhere from 32 miles per gallon to 25 miles per gallon depending on whether the person is driving on highways or in town. In addition, Chevrolet says that the Equinox can go six hundred miles in between fill ups, which is outstanding for a crossover, and some of the best figures yet for any crossover.
What gives the Equinox its amazing gas mileage? For one, it is equipped with a small V6, however, that does not relinquish any power that the vehicle has. In fact, it takes off rather fast for a crossover when put up against other vehicles that are similar, such as Chrysler. Secondly, the tires are what people consider to be low rolling resistance, meaning that your tires are not having to work harder when you drive faster, which does not burn as much fuel.
The Equinox also came out with a fuel cell version of the crossover. This helped increase gas mileage significantly. However, there were only about one hundred that were produced since they do need to use hydrogen fuel stations. And since these stations are not everywhere that would make owning one of these particular types of Equinox's a bit hard. They were mainly sold to those who live in California, since California has around 23 of these hydrogen stations in place and functioning.
On top of the excellent fuel mileage, the Equinox is also easy on the eyes. And is often termed one of the best looking cross over SUV's out there. It looks elegant, yet still has plenty of room for functioning in everyday life. Safety features of the Equinox also make it popular with consumers. The 2011 Equinox has yet to be tested for safety to give ratings, however, since it is almost identical to the 2010 models, it would be fine to think that it should score the same if not better than the 2010 model. For 2010, the Equinox was given five out of five stars in regard to frontal and side crashes. In the rollover testing, the Equinox was given four out of five stars, which is above average for an SUV to score so high. In fact for 2010, it was an Institute for Highway Safety Top Pick in regard to safety. Perhaps one of the reasons that it is considered such a safe vehicle has to do with the on board On Star that is available in Chevrolet vehicles only and reports to authorities if there is every an accident to get them to the vehicle as soon as possible. In addition, the vehicle contains front passenger air bags and headrest curtain air bags for everyone's safety. An option safety aspect is to have a camera installed on the rear of the vehicle that shows exactly what is behind you should you be having trouble reversing and could warn the driver ahead of time of any impending accident.
Overall, the Equinox has the looks and the safety features that people want. However, the most alluring aspect about the vehicle is the gas mileage that it gets. Not many people can downgrade to a smaller vehicle in order to save gas, which is why those people that need room end up having to get an SUV or a crossover. With the Equinox they do not have to settle for paying hundreds more a month just on gas in order to fit their family. This is why the Equinox will probably once again be one of the best selling crossovers for yet another year.

Plus, the 4200 six-cylinder engine is naturally balanced due to its inline configuration – helping to reduce engine shake and idle roll. The rigid inline structure of the engine contributes to low noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) levels. The available Vortec 5300 V8 SFI engine in 2011 Chevy Trailblazer EXT models generates 290 horsepower and 325 lb.-ft. of torque. The 2011 Chevy Avalanche is essentially a modified Chevrolet Suburban; the two vehicles share fully 85 percent of their parts. So like the Suburban, the Avalanche is built on the same superb platform as the Silverado pickup. One thing that surprises many people is the size of the Avalanche.
It doesn't look that big in photos, but it's big, three inches longer than a Suburban. Yet it feels tight and surprisingly nimble on mountain roads. GM's engineers created the Avalanche by lopping off the rear roof structure and quarter windows of a Suburban, and redesigning the back end. When the Avalanche's rear seats are in place, there's a 5-foot 3-inch bed, which is long enough for most tasks. When that's not enough it converts into an 8-foot bed by taking over the rear seats.
The edgy front styling of last year's 2011 Chevy Avalanche gave it a unique look among Chevrolet's full-size light trucks. For it has applied the same look to the Silverado pickup (but not the Suburban and Tahoe), so The 2011 Avalanche doesn't look quite as different as it did before.
However, the Avalanche is still distinguished from the Silverado by its more exaggerated fender flairs, and by its extensive body cladding. Most of the interior features of a well-trimmed Suburban are found in the Avalanche. That means a comfortable cabin for passengers and good ergonomic design for the driver. The seats in the Avalanche are identical to the first two rows in the Suburban.
The 2011 2011 Chevy Avalanche comes with a coffee warmer, and the ultimate in sun visors. Map lights are available; in fact, Chevrolet has provided generous illumination throughout the cabin. Flush-mounted cargo lights in the bed rate very high on our coolness scale and can make a big difference when loading cargo at night. Of course, the most interesting feature on The 2011 Chevy Avalanche is the Midgate, which allows the Avalanche to convert from a five- or six-seat SUV with a 5-foot, 3-inch cargo box, to a two- or three-passenger pickup truck with an 8-foot, 1-inch box.
But there's more: The rear window of the cab can be quickly removed and stored out of harm's way. The bed cover comes off in three pieces and slides into a nice fabric bag; these pieces attach to the side of the bed to minimize the space they take up. Now you have a fully functional pickup with an open eight-foot bed. You can park an ATV in back, with the front tires and fenders where the rear seat was moments before. Of course, this results in an open-air driving experience; there's nothing separating you from the open pickup bed. Alternatively, you can fold down the rear seats but leave the Midgate in place, which leaves cargo space inside the cab; there's nearly 54 cubic feet of interior cargo volume with the rear seat folded and Midgate in place. 2011 Chevy Avalanche includes power-adjustable pedals, which move up to 3 inches closer to the driver.
That's a real boon for the vertically challenged, who won't have to sit as close to the steering wheel (and air bag) in order to reach the pedals. The adjustable pedals have a memory function, making it more convenient for mixed-height couples to share the same truck.

2011 Chevy Blazer’s interior is conservatively styled but everything is logical and easy to use. Controls on the center dash are conveniently backlit for night driving. The seats are comfortable. The front seat cleverly folds flat for carrying long objects such as skis. The rear seat is a 60/40 split folding one.
Lots of nooks and crannies are available for storage, including a center console with a roomy bin, four cupholders, a storage tray and a clip pad. It further has requisite power outlets. The biggest problem with the interior is its inconsistency. Some interior parts used extremely high quality materials, such as the soft rubber door handles, which reminded us of Volkswagens, the benchmark for interiors.
Yet, other parts, such as the plastic surrounding the audio and climate controls, appeared cheap. The ceiling area above the visors was lumpy, the edges of the ceiling fabric where it was supposed to tuck into the trim was ragged, the handle for the lumbar support flimsy and the seat fabric puckered.
A neat feature is the remote starter system, useful for starting the car from inside the house when it’s very cold or very hot outside. To start The 2011 Chevy Blazer, press the lock button on the remote key fob, then press and hold the remote start button for one and one-half seconds. The two-step process is designed to prevent accidental activation. It also ensures the vehicle is locked (it can be unlocked by pushing the lock button again on the key fob) and the anti-theft system engages.
The remote start system receives an ever-changing radio frequency code, intended to thwart thieves, from the key fob. The vehicle turn signals flash once and the parking lights turn on when the vehicle engine begins running. To drive away after a remote start, the vehicle’s ignition key must be placed in the switch.
The 2011 Chevy Blazer is built on GM’s new global platform it calls Epsilon, a front-wheel-drive architecture developed by a team of American, German and Swedish engineers. 2011 Chevy Blazer body structure is rock solid to make it quiet and responsive as well as safe, presumably. Its steering is an electronic system to boost fuel economy, reduce noise and require less maintenance. It provides the driver with assistance at low speeds, such as in parking lots, and less at highway speeds for better feel. Engineers have deliberately tuned the steering, handling and ride to be smack dab in between. Both engines deliver plenty of power as well as good fuel economy within their segments.
GM’s global Ecotec engine, a 2.2-liter dual overhead cam four cylinder, serves as the base engine. It delivers 145 horsepower and good fuel economy. GM’s newly developed 3.5-liter V6 is the other choice, providing 200 horsepower and decent fuel economy. We were especially impressed with the extra kick the V6 gave us in highway passing maneuvers. The new 3.5-liter V6 offers a big improvement over the previous Malibu’s 170-horsepower 3.1-liter V6.

The 2011 Chevy Cavalier was born ready for a road trip. Paired with a premium sound system and available XM Satellite Radio, it’s bound to give your friends something to talk about. Bright colors are available, including Rally Yellow and Sunburst Orange Metallic.
The 2011 2011 Chevy Cavalier is an attractive car with flowing lines, rounded fenders and a low-to-the-road attitude. Relatively slender A-pillars and C-pillars enhance driver visibility and contribute to the light, airy feel of the upper body. Dual side mirrors are tucked nicely into the A-pillar.
The 2011 2011 Chevy Cavalier look sportier than the Sedans. LS Sport models stand out with body-color door handles and mirrors, Sport front and rear fascia, integrated fog lamps, lower rocker moldings, a rear spoiler, chrome exhaust outlet, and 16-inch chromed aluminum wheels with performance tires. Interior Features. 2011 Chevy Cavalier has a nice interior design and the interior materials appear to be of decent quality.
The thick, contoured steering wheel in the LS Sport Sedan feels good. Power window switches are located on the center console, however, harder to find and more awkward to operate than when they’re on the door.
2011 Chevy Cavalier offers interior roominess comparable for the class. Sedan models have a little more headroom and shoulder room in front than the Coupes, but legroom is identical. The LS seats are contoured and comfortable, but side support could be better for cornering. Five cup holders are provided. The back seat is surprisingly roomy in the Sedan. There’s decent rear headroom, albeit a bit restricted on the outboard side. The rear seat folds down and is split 60/40 for added versatility. The 2011 2011 Chevy Cavalier offers less room in the back seats, but they are still quite usable. LS Sport Coupes get an easy-entry front passenger seat, improving access to the back. GM’s LATCH system (Lower Anchor and Tethers for CHildren) allows installation of compatible child-safety seats without using the seatbelt. An AM/FM/CD/MP3 player ($150) is available for 2011 models.
XM Satellite Radio ($325 plus subscription) is also available, eliminating the need to change from your favorite music stations when traveling. The 24-hour news channels are available along with sports programming and a hundred other stations. Inside the car, with seating for five and more interior space than Toyota Corolla or Dodge Neon. 2011 Chevy Cavalier offers cloth bucket seats, a rear defogger, rear-seat heat ducts and remote keyless entry. Some models also boast power windows, cruise control, and a tilt-wheel steering column. Think you can’t afford a sports car? Think again. Plus, Cavalier performance parts body kits have a comprehensive safety package with high-strength, steel body, safety-cage construction and Daytime Running Lamps.
It’s no accident these features are standard; we’re committed to making driving safer.

The 2011 Chevy Colorado is based on a welded ladder-frame that is torsionally 250-percent stiffer that the S-10, which improves ride and handling, and leads to reduction in road noise transmitted into the interior. It also allows for finer tuning of the suspension. For example, the 4×4 Crew Cab rides on a welded ladder-style H-frame chassis fitted with either the standard “heavy duty” Z85 torsion bar suspension or the Z71 “off-road” package.
The Z85 4×4 suspension, which raises ride height by more than two inches over the standard 2wd Colorado, features twin-tube shocks and a 28mm stabilizer bar in the front to reduce body roll. Standard tires are Continental P235/75R15s mounted on 15×6-inch steel wheels. Taller, wider tires in the form of P265/75R15s mounted on seven-inch rims accompany the Z71 suspension package, giving it a ride height is three inches taller than the stock 2wd Colorado. The Z71 suspension also includes Arvin Meritor/APA monotubes controlling the heavy duty suspension.
The combination is tuned very well, giving the 4×4 Crew Cab a pleasant on/off-road ride quality that makes it feel like a much larger pickup.
Grey fender flares and an aluminum skid plate that protects the transmission and oil pan also accompany the Z71 upgrade. Rack-and-pinion steering ads to the new pickup’s handling. There’s no road wander, and steering input is instantly rewarded. Braking is also superb.
The 2011 2011 Chevy Colorado comes with four-wheel-anti-lock brakes-11.2-inch discs in front, 11.6-inch drums in the back. Brake pedal feel is excellent and progressive. Where the new Colorado 4×4 Crew Cab really shines is passenger and cargo room. Compared to the “old” S-10, the new model is unmistakable wider, longer and taller. In fact, the Colorado cabs are the largest in the compact/mid-size market-and have a feel of being more akin to that of a mid-size sedan than a pickup. The interior starts with a new dash that is moved about two inches father forward to provide more passenger/driver room. The dash is also cleaner and straighter, adding to the feeling of openness. Instrumentation and placement of the switches and controls are very intuitive so you feel comfortable driving right away.
GM designers did a nice job of not cheapening up the interior with bland, hard plastic that has been so common in the GM cars. Instead, the thermoplastic used in The 2011 Chevy Colorado has a feel and texture that exudes a little bit of richness to the interior. The seats are buckets in front, with a full-size split-bench for the rear passengers. Front legroom is near that of a full-size, while the rear seat passengers are comfortable as long as there’s not a six-foot-plus driver with ape arms maximizing the seat rail adjustment. Access to the Crew Cab’s rear seat is through full-size doors. Getting in is easy. Getting out is a bit tougher.
The “B”-pillar that separates the front and rear doors has been mover rearward to make front seat egress easier. Moving the door pillar aft tends to block rear passenger’s feet when they try to step or swivel out of the back seat. padding; the seat backs border on being uncomfortable for adults on a long drive

A well-balanced package, The 2011 Chevy Corvette set a new refinement benchmark for modern sports cars and consequently garnered our Car of the Year award. Vague rumors of a sophisticated, high-performance machine that would build upon The 2011 Chevy Corvette legend fueled our investigation. Unfortunately, the Corvette team has been well-coached in media interrogation tactics, making it difficult to gain much information through official channels. However, our unofficial sources have delivered many intriguing puzzle pieces that reveal significant portions of the current C6 plan. This is reminiscent of the transition from the ’63-’67 run to the curvaceous ’68-’82 series. It will be an evolution of the current-generation car whose development process began in the late ’80s.
The 2011 Chevy Corvette excels in many ways, from its well-mannered ride dynamics, to its ultra-slick powertrain performance and pleasantly livable, well-laid-out interior. And sales have boomed.
As with past 2011 Chevy Corvette and special editions, the existing car will bear that honor, ushering in the C6 powertrain and a few leading-edge technologies. We had expected a tribute color scheme of Polo White with a red interior to adorn a limited run of convertibles honoring the 300 original ’53 roadsters. However, several sources have indicated that a single-color gold treatment is likely, reminiscent of the Ruby Red 40th anniversary cars.
The exterior design will be slightly more daring, reflecting GM’s current willingness to accept styling risks. Combining both soft curves and machined edges, The 2011 Chevy Corvette will push the bold design aesthetic exhibited in the Chevrolet Avalanche and Evoq into a provocative, muscular form. Heritage cues will be more subtle than overt, reflecting Detroit’s current concern for dipping too deeply into the retro well. Enthusiasts favor futuristic over retro, based on MT Online polls, where harder-edged styling also garnered 2.5 times more support than more rounded at time of writing.
From the chiseled nose, muscular fender flares, and trim posterior, the C6 exudes street-dominating attitude. It has been postulated that a rear lip could be added to the rear to increase downforce, which the current car could use .Such a spoiler, however, has not been observed on coupe clay models, which exhibit a more rounded trailing edge than the current car.
The 2011 2011 Chevy Corvette benefit greatly from the advanced hydroforming frame-rail process first introduced on the C5. This clever innovation would permit the next platform to be built in two different lengths without introducing a significant number of additional welds or pieces.
The cleverly engineered chassis that made the C5 4.5 times stiffer than the C4 will permit engineers to fine-tune the shared platform to deliver the handling characteristics suitable to the crisper Chevrolet and cushier future Cadillac models. Active Handling will be tied in to an innovative ride system incorporating MagneRide shock absorbers. (Similar dampers are scheduled to be fitted to select upcoming Cadillac performance models.)

Every 2011 Chevy Equinox is equipped with standard Active Handling, an advanced stability control system that provides nearly seamless operation and low intrusion in enthusiastic driving conditions. The Active Handling System activates when there is a significant difference between driver steering input and how the car is actually responding. Working together with the antilock brake system and Traction Control as needed, Active Handling automatically applies any one of the four brakes to help control the situation. Add this technology to the standard Corvette safety-cage construction, air bags, and front and rear crash zones, and you know you’ll be styling and safe in your 2011 Chevy Equinox.
