Chrysler is preparing to build a small car that will be offered by Dodge. They are set to start testing the car this next half of the year. The head of production for Chrysler has said that the small car is set to be built in Belvidere, Illinois Chrysler plant starting in August. With the production of this small car for Chrysler, Fiat is going to meet the standards that the United States government has set in place to regulate just how much Fiat can purchase of their stake in Chrysler. And Fiat is planning to increase their stake through this production decision.
The design work on the car has already been completed and they are simply ready to start building and testing these out to see if the small cars are something that the world would be interested in buying. Chrysler has said that they are really focused on making sure that this works for them. After all, it would be the first small car that Chrysler has on the market for consumers to choose from. And it could mean the beginning of a whole new market for Dodge.
The requirements for Fiat to increase their stake in Chrysler means that Chrysler has to make sure that they have a small car that is going to be able to get forty miles per gallon. Chrysler believes that they are going to be able to get Fiat the stake that they want in the long run because they do believe that they are going to be successful with the car that will get forty miles per gallon. And they realize just how big of a deal that this could be for the company at large.
Once the production begins and the testing has been done and everything is in tip top shape, Chrysler believes that they could have something to offer on a trial basis at the beginning of the first quarter of next year.

Chrysler has been in the news recently as the basically the Cinderella story of the auto industry. Most people had thought that Chrysler was history, but they have proven that they have what it takes to succeed and to grow in the economy. They are now in the news for the improvements that they have made that has put them a long way with consumer reports. Consumer Reports has said that of the eight models that Chrysler has to offer right now that they tested all of them and found that four of these models had made significant improvements to the handling and performance, while also making improvements to the interior finish as well. The other four models were still lacking behind, but there is no reason why they too cannot be improved over time.
Consumer Reports said that the Dodge Durango and Charger are the two vehicles that have improved the most, which is good news for those that are considering these vehicles. They also pointed out that the Chrysler Town and Country also improved quite a bit from what it used to be. Though this is all good news, Consumer Reports is quick to point out that the company still has a long way to go before they are back on top in the auto market.
The magazine points out that most of the vehicles that are being offered by Chrysler are still mediocre, and that the competition is still outweighing them in almost every category. Therefore, if Chrysler is really wanting to make a difference, then they are going to have to change a lot of their vehicles.
For Chrysler, this is known news. However, we cannot dismiss just how much effort they have put in thus far for the vehicles that they released. From a company that most people thought would perish, to what they are today is an amazing feat. Give them a few more months and more than likely the vehicles will be up to the standards or by passing what Consumer Reports has laid out.

Chrysler has underwent a transformation in the past year and a half after struggling to come out from the bankruptcy that threatened to make Chrysler a thing of the past. For those that are looking for new 2011 vehicles, they are going to find some luck with the new vehicles that Chrysler is offering this year. In particular, the 2011 Chrysler 300.
Chrysler has brought the consumer market a car that is luxurious while still maintain an edge. Most people state that it has the looks of those cars that people pay much more for, while getting a great deal on the price. Most people are stating that appearance wise, they are reminded of the Audi, however, without the price tag of an Audi, which is good news for those that want to look like luxury, but have the budget of someone much more less luxurious.
The car is going to offer many safety standards that people are going to find comforting when they are driving the all new 300.
For example, standard safety features include:
* Four wheel anti-lock brakes
* Traction and Stability Control
* Tire Pressure Monitoring System
* Side Air Bags
* Side and Rear Head side air bags
* Child Safety Locks
* Headlights that automatically come on
* daytime running lights
* Heated mirrors on both the passenger and driver side
* Wipers that are able to go various speeds
* Security system
The 300 is also going to offer the consumers the choice of choosing the hands free system to go with the 300 if they want added safety while driving.
The 300 was available last year, however, for those that are wanting something new the 2011 version is going to be much different. The looks of the car is much different from the past model. The car has a smaller front grille, new headlights as well as taillights, with a spoiler that was added in order to give a sleeker appearance. However, the biggest difference that people are going to notice that the base engine is a 3.6 liter V6 engine that is a bit more powerful than past models, plus is going to be more fuel efficient that past models.
Ride wise people can expect to be driving in comfort. The interior is roomy meaning that for long trips, this is going to be the car that you want to drive. IN addition, the ride is not noisy as Chrysler has done everything possible to ensure that the driving experience is one that people are going to always remember. The option to get all wheel drive is also something that most people are looking forward to since that seems to be an idea that is evaporating for the market nowadays.
Price wise, people can expect to pay around $27,000 for the base model and upwards of $40,000 for the higher end models. They can expect to be getting around sixteen miles per gallon in the city and twenty three miles per gallon on the highway, which is decent gas mileage for a car that is this size and luxurious.

The new 2011 Chrysler 300M is the talk of many Chrysler fans right now. The car is considered a sports sedan. With so many automakers remaking past models in order to attract new consumer, the 300M is perhaps the best car that throws back to the days of the great cars that were American built, most people are comparing the 300M to the cars that were built in the fifties. The 300M is built on the same platform as the Concorde and the Dodge Intrepid, giving it the sedan fill, however, it also contains some great performance numbers. The standard engine that is found with the 300M is the V6 engine that produces 250 horsepower. The 300M Special, which is the more performance car of the two is working with around 255 horsepower. The transmission on both vehicles are using an automatic transmission with four speeds, however, there is a way in which drivers can switch to a manual transmission if they so choose.
Looks wise, the 300M is holding its own. The lines are classic with a low hood line which gives it even more power since wind does not hold the car back as much as the competition cars. In addition, it is outfitted with chrome exhaust tips. Probably the best looking part of the vehicle is the headlights that are two times brighter than Halogen bulbs, this not only adding to the total look of the car, but also adds some additional safety as well.
Safety wise there are a few standards on the 300M that people have come to expect with any car. Anti lock brakes and traction control. The traction works with the anti-lock brakes to stop the car from escaping from the driver. Within the ABS there are electric sensors that monitor each tire in order to notice that if it begins to slip. IF the wheels begin to slip, all systems work together to slow it down and be sure that the car does not get away from the driver. This makes steering much more easier for the driver should they come into a situation in which they are starting to lose control. Front side air bags are optional on the car, while front driver air bags are standard.
The interior of the car is just as impressive as its performance and looks. The truck is around 16.8 cubic feet, which means that there is ample storage. Plus the back seats can be lowered if you find that you need more space. Both models offered in the 300M contains leather interiors, and many options that can make the car one of extensive luxury. For example, satellite radio is available, as well as a navigation system. For those that utilize their cell phone, the feature of UConnect is available for consumers to opt into. This allows you to use your cell phone through the audio system, giving you a hands free option. This system can be used for any cell phone that is present in the car, not just the driver.
Overall, driving the 300M is one that most people will never forget, and those who purchase will not regret as it promises a ride full of comfort, as well as performance.

The 2011 Chrysler Concord offers LX, LXi, and Limited trim. It shares its under skin design with the Dodge Intrepid and Chrysler’s sporty 300M near-luxury sedan. Concorde seats five, or six with the front bench optional on LX and LXi. The LX has a 200-hp 2.7-liter V6, the LXi a 234-hp 3.5-liter V6, the Limited a 250-hp 3.5. All use a 4-speed automatic transmission and have 4-wheel disc brakes. ABS is standard on Limited, optional on LX and LXi. Traction control is standard on Limited and included in the LXi Luxury Touring option. Front side air bags are optional on all. For The 2011 Chrysler Concord, the Limited’s Luxury Group package is renamed Premium Discount Group and now includes a sunroof and in-dash CD changer; it retains real-wood interior trim. The 2011 2011 Chrysler Concord performance and accommodations mirror those of like-equipped Dodge Intrepid.
Model-year 2011 brings a redesigned Concord that dispenses with front-wheel drive and “cab forward” styling. The new model will be rear drive, shorter overall, and ride a longer wheelbase. It’s part of the company’s “LX” big-car program that will also sire a Chrysler flagship and a new Dodge Intrepid. All share various under skin components with Mercedes’ new 2003 E-Class, including suspension elements and antiskid/traction control system. It’s an effort to realize the cost-saving “synergies” promised with Chrysler’s 1998 takeover by Daimler-Benz.
In addition, all LX models get a Mercedes-sourced automatic transmission, though it’ll be a 5-speed instead of the new E-Class 6-speed. Engines will remain Chrysler’s own, with improved versions of existing V6s for Concorde and Intrepid. The 2011 2011 Chrysler Concord is a 4-door, up to 6-passenger family sedan, available in 3 trims, ranging from the LX to the Limited. The 2011 2011 Concorde’s closest competitors include the Audi A4, the Mercury Sable, and the Volkswagen Passat.
Upon introduction, the LX is equipped with a standard 2.7-liter, V6, 200-horsepower engine that achieves 21-mpg in the city and 29-mpg on the highway. The Limited is equipped with a standard 3.5-liter, V6, 250-horsepower engine that achieves 19-mpg in the city and 27-mpg on the highway. A 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard on both trims. The 2011 Chrysler Concord is a carryover from 2003. With its trademark grille design, chrome edging, and quad projector headlamps, The 2011 Chrysler Concord offers both performance and sophistication in the form of a full-size sedan. The 2011 2011 Chrysler Concord LX, which combines front independent suspension and gas-charged MacPherson struts with rear independent suspension and Chapman struts.
The 2011 Chrysler Concord Lxi, which offers these technologies and more, boasting the additional Low-Speed Traction Control and speed proportional power steering. Concorde Limited, which boasts all of the best amenities known to man, from a Home Link Universal Transceiver to Royal leather-trimmed seats. Concord engines are as much as 25 percent more powerful than their design predecessors, yet they improved overall efficiency by nearly 10 percent, cut some emissions by a full 30 percent. The 3.5-liter High-Output V6 on Concorde Limited delivers 250 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 250 pounds-per-foot of torque at 3,900 rpm. On the Concorde LXi, a 232-horsepower 3.5-liter 24 valve V6 is equipped with a three-plenum intake manifold for optimum midrange and wide-open throttle power. Finally, the Concorde LX boasts a 2.7-liter 24-valve V6 that sports smooth-running dual overhead camshafts and delivers 200 horsepower, making it one of today’s most potent engines.

The 2011 Chrysler Crossfire is the sports coupe of the future and is American dream machine come true. The Viper, Prowler and PT Cruiser all began as well-received concepts. Wisely (especially in the case of the ultra-hot-selling Cruiser), Chrysler wasted little time in hustling these gleaming visions of things to come into showrooms. Which of the marquee’s concepts is next in line to be recast as a production vehicle? That honor belongs to The 2011 Chrysler Crossfire. The rear-wheel-drive coupe first debuted as a well-received concept at the 2001 North American International Auto Show in Detroit; at the 2002 Greater Los Angeles Auto Show, a finalized production version was shown.
Dreams are, of course, subjective, but the Crossfire certainly has the looks to fit the bill of someone’s futuristic fantasy. The vehicle’s lines successfully wed classic European sport-coupe elegance with American performance-car spunk. The car is low-slung, with a sculpted countenance. A long hood, metallic-finished side air louvers, pumped-up fenders and a tapered rear mark its distinctive profile.
Wide shoulders top 18-inch front wheels; the rear wheels are slightly larger, measuring 19 inches. Chrysler boasts that the Crossfire has a unique new glass-to-body proportion, with tall body sides and diminished glass surfaces. To help make sure you never forget who this baby’s daddy is, Chrysler has helpfully plastered its winged badge atop The 2011 Chrysler Crossfire’s hood; the logo spans the entire length of the car’s chrome grille. Six grooves snaking rakishly across the length of the hood announce that yes, this is a car with performance aspirations. In back, The 2011 Chrysler Crossfire boasts a retractable spoiler, which springs into action once the vehicle reaches 50 miles per hour.
Within its cabin, The 2011 Chrysler Crossfire’s design cues are sophisticated and decidedly upscale. Two-tone leather swathes the seats; Chrysler’s badge is embossed into both headrests. Chrysler deviates from the norm by placing the car’s ignition switch on its instrument panel, instead of its steering column. Gauges are clean and precise, with white-on-black numbering, and metallic and chrome accents. The 2011 Chrysler Crossfire is powered by a Mercedes-sourced 3.2-liter 18-valve SOHC V6 engine, which kicks out 215 horsepower and 229 pound-feet of torque. A five-speed electronically controlled automatic tranny puts the power to the road. Should the driver get over his head, a stability control system is offered to help prevent dangerous skids and spins.
The 2011 Chrysler Crossfire also features an independent double wishbone front suspension with coil springs; out back is an independent five-link suspension with coil springs. Its stirring appearance should help win The 2011 Chrysler Crossfire an audience. But it won’t come cheap; pricing has yet to be announced, but the fact that the Crossfire will be built using a significant percentage of Mercedes-quality components means that it’s likely to clock in as a big-ticket purchase. The Crossfire will be built in Germany and will go on sale in mid-2003; Chrysler expects to produce 20,000 units worldwide for the 2003 calendar year, with 85 percent of that number going to U.S. markets.

2011 Chrysler Pacifica is among the new breed of crossover 4-dr wagons that aim to blend traits of cars, SUVs, and minivans. From behind the driver's seat, in a 2011 Chrysler Pacifica you'd think you were in a luxury sport sedan. They've even included the obligatory dash-mounted analog clock. The IP flows into a console that carries back between the second row seats. Interior material quality is good. Designers opted for a sports car brushed metal look instead of luxury wood trim. The high belt-line creates a sense of security and the front and second rows of plush luxury seating offer up a comfortable ride.
The second row folds and tumbles forward to allow for access to the third row that's designed to seat adults, but when I squeezed my five-foot eleven-inch frame back there, my head bumped up against the headliner.
2011 Chrysler Pacifica handles like a big sedan with precise steering and almost no body roll. 2011 Chrysler Pacifica shares it's 215 hp 3.5L V-6 with the 300M, but this 4,675-pound 'segment buster' could use a little more help under the hood. With three adults on board, it was huffing and puffing up some of the steeper inclines. Once the car was up to speed on the freeway, it proved a formidable cruiser. Pacifica is taller than a car but lower than most SUVs. It also has an exceptionally wide body and is nearly as long as Chrysler's Town & Country minivan. The sole power train is a 250-hp 3.5-liter V6 and 4-speed automatic transmission with manual shift gate.
Chrysler says that 2011 Chrysler Pacifica is indefinable, in a segment all its own. Pacifica is perfect for the family of four who has graduated out of their minivan and needs something geared more towards grownup kids. To that end, it offers three rows of seats for 6-passenger capacity, a suspension designed to provide car like road manners, and available all-wheel drive. The 2011 2011 Chrysler Pacifica offers front-wheel drive with optional traction control, or all-wheel drive without low-range gearing. Antilock 4-wheel disc brakes, 17-inch wheels, and a load-leveling rear suspension are standard. Seating consists of buckets in the 1st and 2nd rows and a 3rd-row split bench. The 2nd and 3rd rows fold but don't remove. A driver knee air bag is standard. Head-protecting curtain side air bags that cover all three rows, power-adjustable pedals, and a tire-pressure monitor are standard on AWD models, optional on front-drive models. Side air bags and antiskid system are not offered. Options include leather upholstery, heated 1st- and 2nd-row seats, sunroof, power lift gate, navigation and DVD entertainment systems, and satellite radio.

The warranty and workmanship that shows in The 2011 Chrysler Prowler also gives you a sense of security, allowing you to rest easier knowing you made a good purchasing decision. One of the new and exciting aspects of this vehicle is the security features. When you are driving The 2011 Chrysler Prowler you feel more in control of the road and more secure. If you have children or a family, you can respect the additional security features that have been added. This years version of The 2011 Chrysler Prowler is similar to last years, although many interior and exterior changes have been made. There is plenty of passenger room. It also offers automatic transmission refinements and a creek free body.
Four-wheel disc brakes are standard. ABS, traction control, and side air bags are unavailable. As for color selection, Inca Gold replaced Mulholland Blue midyear as an option to orange or silver.
When the maker of The 2011 Chrysler Prowler made minor refinements to this vehicle it was visible and apparent. This allowed it to compete better with other makes and models in it’s class. A new color is the only change of note for The 2011 edition of Chrysler’s retro hot rod. This limited-production, rear-wheel-drive 2-seat convertible has a manual folding cloth top with heated glass rear window. The only engine is a 253-hp 3.5-liter V6 shared with the division’s full-size cars. It’s linked to an automatic transmission with Chrysler’s Auto Stick, which has a separate gate for manual shifting. This class features an interesting mix of hard-core performance models and more luxurious touring convertibles. The 2011 2011 Chrysler Prowler is fast, comfortable, and reasonably affordable. Unlike previous models it doesn’t beat you up with a hard ride, and it will cruise quietly at highway speeds. Our other Best Buy, the Mazda Miata, is a bare-bones roadster with few frills and average acceleration, but for weekend fun on a twisty back road it’s hard to beat. Audi’s TT is solid, stylish, and loaded with features making it fit for the Recommended list. Like no other in its class, TT offers the all-weather advantage of available quattro AWD at a great price. Of course, if you don’t mind spending a few more bucks, we recommend you take a look at the Mercedes-Benz SLK. The Mercedes offers an interesting mix of performance and luxury. It also has a retractable hardtop, making it more of an all-weather car. Though ending a slow-selling limited edition never improves the bottom line that much, Chrysler dealers really don’t need the showroom draw of a nostalgia car created to liven up the image of a now-defunct brand. Besides, they’ll have a brand-new “halo” model come 2011: the sleek Crossfire coupe, designed around the chassis and components of parent Mercedes-Benz’s E-Class sedan.

New for The 2011 Chrysler Pt Cruiser is a 180-hp turbo option for Touring and Limited models; it comes only with automatic transmission. This retro-styled 5-passenger 4-dr wagon has front-wheel drive and a 2.4-liter 4-cyl engine. Base, Touring, and Limited models come standard with 150 hp. The turbocharged GT model has 220 hp. Manual transmission is standard, automatic optional with the other engines. The GT’s automatic is Chrysler’s Auto Stick with a separate gate for manual shifting.
Antilock 4-wheel disc brakes with traction control are standard on the GT and optional on 180-hp versions. A front disc/rear drum ABS option is available for nonturbo models. Front side air bags are standard on Limited and GT, optional elsewhere.
Also newly optional are satellite radio and Chrysler’s UConnect, which uses the audio system as a hands-free, wireless link to any cell phone in the car. Cruiser’s front passenger seat folds and the rear seat stows or removes for extra cargo room. The base model has 15-inch wheels, Touring and Limited have 16s, and the GT has 17s. GTs also have body-color exterior trim, exclusive sport seats, and silver instrument faces with matching cabin accent.
2011 Chrysler Pt Cruiser isn’t flying out of showrooms at padded prices the way it did when it was the newest, hottest thing on the street. Indeed, some dealers and Chrysler itself have resorted to rebates and other incentives on certain models. Perhaps because of that, sales rose 4.7 percent in the first half of 2002 vs. the year-earlier period. A steady stream of new packages and trim options has also likely helped keep the Cruiser fresh and buyers interested. The Cruiser’s next big shot in the arm may come in early 2011 when the much-anticipated convertible version arrives. It won’t have the wagon’s cargo space or versatility, but convertibles have never sold on practicality anyway. Because it’s almost sure to be heavier than the wagon, the drop-top may well get the Turbot’s 215-hp engine as standard. It will definitely have seating for four, plus a fixed “hoop” bridging the passenger compartment to restore some of the body rigidity that’s always lost when a fixed-roof car is “decapitated.” The top will probably be manual, with power operation optional. As for the future, the Detroit rumor mill has The 2011 Chrysler Pt Cruiser sticking with its basic design through model-year 2011, after which a redesigned replacement is expected.

2011 Chrysler Sebring offers distinctive styling, roomy interiors and big trunks. Sebring models come in convertible, sedan, and coupe body styles. The 2011 2011 Sebring Coupe’s closest competitors include the Acura RSX, the Hyundai Tiburon, and the Volkswagen New Beetle. Upon introduction, The 2011 Chrysler Sebring Coupe Base is equipped with a standard 2.4-liter, I4, 147-horsepower engine that achieves 24-mpg in the city and 32-mpg on the highway. The Limited Platinum Series is equipped with a standard 3.0-liter, V6, 200-horsepower engine that achieves 21-mpg in the city and 29-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard on both trims, and a 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is optional.
The 2011 Chrysler Sebring Coupe LX is equipped with a standard 2.4-liter, I4, 142-horsepower engine. The LXi is equipped with a standard 3.0-liter, V6, 200-horsepower engine that achieves 20-mpg in the city and 29-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard on both trims, and a 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is optional.
All offer room for five, but the three body styles are quite distinctive and should be viewed individually. For starters, the sedan, coupe, and convertible differ in their basic structure. The sedan is largely a Chrysler engineering effort, the coupe is based on a Mitsubishi platform, and the convertible uses some elements from each. There are interior differences and styling variations and the engines and transmissions differ.
The 2011 2011 Chrysler Sebring Coupe combines the sporty styling of a two-door with the practicality of a rear seat and a decent-sized trunk. All three-body styles are available with a V6 engine that delivers responsive performance. However, the base four-cylinder engine is quite competent. The Sebring model lineup has been revamped for 2011, but there are only minor changes to the vehicles themselves. Regardless of body style, the standard Sebring comes with a 150-horsepower twin-cam 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. A V6 engine comes standard on Touring, Limited, and GTC models. Sedans and convertibles use a 2.7-liter V6, while coupes get a 3.0-liter V6. Most models come with four-speed automatics, but five-speed manuals are available on coupes and the GTC convertible. Chrysler’s Auto stick is available, an automatic with a manual-shift feature. The standard Sebring trim level comes with a cloth interior, air conditioning, power windows, mirrors and door locks, cruise control, and an AM/FM/CD stereo. V6 is optional. Steel wheels with painted wheel covers and 15-inch tires are standard. 2011 Chrysler Sebring Coupe is phasing out its LX and LXi model nomenclature over the summer in favor of base, Touring, and Limited designations.

The 2011 Chrysler Town and Country is a 4-door, 7-passenger mini van, available in 7 trims, ranging from the LX FWD to the Limited AWD. The 2011 2011 Chrysler Town and Country closest competitors include the Chevrolet Astor Passenger Van, the Mazda MPV, and the Volkswagen Euro van. Upon introduction, The 2011 Chrysler Town and Country LX FWD is equipped with a standard 3.3-liter, V6, 180-horsepower engine. The Limited AWD is equipped with a standard 3.8-liter, V6, 215-horsepower engine that achieves 16-mpg in the city and 23-mpg on the highway.
A 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard on both trims. Chrysler drops the Voyager name for 2011 and realigns its Town & Country lineup. A base Town & Country model replaces voyager.
The balance of the line continues in extended-length form, with a body nearly a foot longer than the base model’s. Base and extended-length LX, ex. Touring, and Limited models have front-wheel drive. Touring AWD and Limited AWD versions have all-wheel drive. Base and LX use a 3.3-liter V6, the others a 3.8-liter V6. All have automatic transmission. A power lift gate and power operation for both sliding side doors is standard on all but base and LX models. ABS is optional on the base model, standard on the others. All 2011 Chrysler Town and Country seat seven. The 3rd-row seat does not fold into the floor as on some rivals. All but base and LX have a split 3rd-row bench seat with 55-lb portions that remove, recline, or fold. Front side air bags are standard on the Limited, optional elsewhere. Curtain side air bags are not offered. Most models offer a height-adjustable rear parcel shelf with pop-up storage dividers. Other options include power-adjustable pedals and rear DVD entertainment. For ’04, a Platinum Series option package for the Touring celebrates the 20th anniversary of the first Chrysler-built minivan. It includes unique alloy wheels, DVD entertainment, and special trim and budging. Also for ’04, all but the base and LX have a standard tire-pressure monitor. Dodge Caravan shares this design and most mechanical features. The 2011 2011 Chrysler Town and Country LWB is a carryover from 2003.
