US Automakers Listening to Consumers
It has been known that in the past the big three US automakers have never really produced cars that were competing with the foreign cars that are were big sellers. Consider the average life of a Toyota car being around ten years, with some people reporting that they keep these cars for twenty or so years, now compare that to some of the vehicles that the US automakers make that are getting around five years out of them before people start complaining. However, it seems that this year is the turning point for US automakers. They have finally taken note of just what drivers want when it comes to a car that is good looking and one that is going to stand the test of time. But, for the past ten years or so, there have been a few vehicles that have always made the worst cars of the year, which is by no means an award.
Among those listed is Jeep Wrangler and Liberty from years past, each had numerous consumer reports on these and the high rate of customer dissatisfaction is what led these two to be included on the worst list. But the question that people are wanting to know is just why it took this long for companies to stand up and figure out what people were wanting?
Most people credit the change to the fact that automakers finally realized that if they wanted to stay in the game that they had to make sure that they were producing something that was worth the customer's time. And because of this they hit the design tables and figured out just where they went wrong in the past. Others blame the fact that the gas prices have forced the car companies to figure out ways to make the cars much more fuel economical to please those that drive them. Whatever the reason, it is nice to see that the US automakers are now producing the cars that people are going to have a joy in owning.
