Chevrolet Colorado Gets Makeover

The Chevrolet Colorado has been the small pickup of choice for those that wanted something small that was offered by Chevrolet. However, the plant that makes these Colorado's located in Louisiana is set to be idled out by 2012. Thus, most people thought that the Colorado would go on the long list of beloved cars that just didn't make it to crowd favorites. However, Chevrolet has announced that they are giving the Colorado a new makeover. But, the kicker for those in the US that are fans of these trucks is that they do not know yet if the Colorado will be sold in the US or not. 

 

Right now, they are targeting the overseas market with the new Colorado. They are set to make the truck's debut at the Bangkok International Motor Show that will be held in Thailand later this month. So what can people expect with the new Colorado? The company has released what most are calling a teaser picture, but from this picture people can see that the sleek lines of the Colorado have changed, as well-being slightly bigger. However, that is about as much as can be told by the picture, as Chevrolet made sure that they were not going to let the secret slip before the auto show.

Those that are close to the project state that the Colorado is becoming a mid size truck in order to compete in that segment overseas, which is a booming segment right now. Last year, the Toyota Tacoma reigned supreme, followed closely by the Ford Ranger. The Chevrolet Colorado was fourth in the line up however, with the new version they are hoping to take over the foreign market and increase their reputation overseas. With the new looks, the truck does seem to have a bit more of appeal to it. However, will it be available in the US? The company has said that they are not saying no to any suggestions, however, have no plans. Something says that most Chevrolet die hards are going to like the new truck, and it will eventually become available.
