Chevrolet Making Vehicles More Electronic Friendly
Chevrolet is trying desperately to compete with Ford in a way that is going to put Chevrolet back on the top. The car maker will be introducing MyLink which competes directly with MyFord Touch, allowing people to access navigation, radio controls, use a cell phone and so forth. However, Chevrolet has even more up their sleeve in order to encourage people to start buying Chevrolet models.
New Chevrolet models, starting with the Equinox and the Volt are going to have streaming Pandora radio in an effort to compete with the radio's that Ford are offering. The new CEO, Dan Akerson, has made sure that the company is focusing on the electronics side of the vehicles in addition to improving the vehicles in terms of fuel mileage and so forth. And Akerson is meeting his goal through doing this since the majority of changes being made are putting the company neck and neck with the Ford Motor Company.
The new MyLink in certain models is not all of Chevrolet's thinking, they have partnered up with a few companies in order to meet the demands since the company admitted that they could not do this alone. They have partnered up with Nuance Communications who are providing information on the MyLink communication process, as well as partnering up with Sony Corp.
What is going to be really different with the Pandora radio is that it is going to be free of charge for those that have a Chevrolet vehicle. However, those that want the option of no commercials, then they can purchase a subscription through Pandora. Chevy plans to still over XM radio that they are offering now, however, Pandora will be just one of those extra services that people can have access to. Overall, Chevrolet is making it to where those interested in Chevrolet's are going to have numerous options that attract their eye and ways in which they can cater the driving experience to their own tastes.
