Cinderella of the North American International Auto Show
The Detroit Auto Show is set to begin on Monday and on the list are numerous big name automakers who are hoping to make a huge splash. The opening day of the North American International Auto Show will be attending by around 5,000 journalists and professionals in the automotive world, which means that chances of getting the publicity that every automaker wants is within reach. So who should everyone be watching for at the show?
The usual automakers like Toyota and Nissan will be present, however, probably the Cinderella story that everyone is anticipating is the rise of the three dominant brands, Chrysler, General Motors and Ford to this years line up. Last year, with the recession in full swing these three automakers did not make much of a showing since they were facing financial troubles. However, this year is a different story.
Each of these automakers are showing new vehicles at the auto show that are more fuel economical vehicles than past vehicles offered by the automakers. Plus, GM and Ford both ended up in the black in terms of the finances, with Chrysler coming close to the same financial security.
Probably the biggest news for GM is that they will be presenting the Buick Verano that most people had wrote off as a brand that had grown extinct. Ford will be showing their various more fuel smart vehicles. Chrysler will also be showing the 300, which they hope will be the one vehicle that does bring them out of debt.
Overall, there is going to be around thirty new vehicles presented at the auto show from all of the automakers, including import automakers. The big news will be which electric concept car will bring in new awards at the close of the show. Nissan is hoping that they win with the Leaf, while Chevrolet is hoping that the Volt will be given the award on their home turf.
