Electric Car Trend
The electric car trend is steadily becoming mainstream, or at least people are hoping that does. Especially those car manufacturers who have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on this new technology. The Chevrolet Volt and the Nissan Leaf has both been released this month. However, they are only be released in selected locations starting with California, and then going to New York, Texas, Washington, Oregon and Tennessee. Professionals are saying that it could be several years before the electrical cars reach all of the states. Why is this? Simply because they are basing the release of these cars on the area and whether people will embrace the idea or not. Automatically, California gets the front seat show simply because they have more citizens.
However, these two vehicles are not the only of its kind to be released for the 2011 year. Total, there should be at least eight hybrids being released, and twelve plug in electric cars being released as well. More are expected to come out for the 2012 year. More than likely these cars are going to follow the same basic release by state as the Volt and Leaf. However, if more people begin to take notice of these cars, who knows, the sky is the limit.
Every manufacturer is now putting a lot of money and effort into producing the next big electric car, given the acceptance that both the Volt and the Leaf received, each snagging numerous awards from the professional automotive world. However, it is still unsure of how the general public are going to accept these cars. For example, the price is an issue that is going to take some time for people to get over and afford, as well as the size of these vehicles is going to limit many families. Despite this, hopes are high that this could be the change to save our environment and stop our dependency on fossil fuels.
