European GM Wants to Make More Luxury Cars
The European division of General Motors is trying to make sure that they are getting back into the game since they have lost around $14.5 billion since 1999 in ad marketing decisions and basically offering cars that are of no interest to those that are wanting to buy. So what is their plan? They are planning on offering additions to these cars that are going to be able to compete with many luxury cars that are being offered in Europe, since they will have many of the same kinds of things that these luxury cars are going to have.
The General Motors unit is currently working with many people on a plan of just what can they do in order to make sure that they are offering options that people want to be driving that are going to offer the luxury level that they are wanting. However, as many people are pointing out, the company cannot be charging the prices that these luxury auto brands are offering since they basically do not have the same reputation as the luxury auto brands.
The brand that GM will be working with is Opel, and they are more than likely going to have this name on the cars that they are offering to the public. But, most people are not going to be paying attention to the brand, due to the past performance that has been a bit on the poor side. Many consumers that were once loyal customers to the brand have switched in recent years because the competition offers something that is much more appealing. This is what GM/Opel is having to deal with and to conquer if they are really wanting to make a comeback into a market that has basically dismissed them as being mediocre. It is a tall order to be able to fix, and it is definitely going to take quite a bit of trial and error in order to be able to overcome the problems that they will be facing.
