Expanded Recall on F150

Ford is increasing their investigation into the F150's that they previously had problems with. The expansion is affecting 1997 to 2011 F150's, meaning that the number is now up to 2.7 million vehicles that are possibly being affected. Due to this, the shares of Ford have fallen, as people are bracing for something awful to happen to the company in the coming months.

The new investigations are concerned the steel that holds the gas tanks in place. It is though that the steel could corrode, leading to fuel tanks to simply fall off and explode or explode while still on the truck. Thus far, there has been no deaths associated with this problem. However, there have been a report of two separate incidents in which the F150 did catch fire. Neither of these fires has an injury or death involved in them.

This is one of the most popular selling trucks in the whole world. There has been tons of these sold each and every year with the F150 taken the first place in the number of truck sales that it has had. This has led many people to believe that if there was a real problem with the trucks that there would be more and more fires springing up and people complaining about this, given the sheer number that Ford has sold over the years. However, as people are pointing out, right now this is an investigation. They are simply looking into what has caused these fires and if this is something that Ford should be held liable for or not.

However, even though this is just an investigation, Ford is already taking a hit for the problem. The good news is that if Ford comes away from this with no problems, then they should be able to make up the loss rather quickly, to still come out in the lead in the market.
