Ford: April Sales
The April sales for Ford has been released, and the company is stating that due to lack of inventory, their sales fell quite a bit from what they sold in March. However, even though their sales were not as huge as the month before, they did still manage to sell 18% more vehicles than they did this time a year ago. The company is stating that the dealers could have sold many more if they had only had the vehicles in order to meet the demand that was out there.
Even with the sales not being what they could have been, the Ford Focus seems to be the shining star in what they have can attribute for their sales during April. Technically this was the first full month of sales for the 2012 Ford Focus and it has been a car that people are wanting. In fact, dealers are claiming that they are selling these cars just about as fast as they are getting them, many times reporting having people already scheduled to receive the next shipment of Ford Focus' that they are getting in.
People should also add in that the Explorer is making its way up to star status as well. The Explorer seems to be coming in to the lots and leaving just as fast. The company has stated that they are trying to meet supply as best as they can, however, it is simply hard especially when consumers are demanding them as fast and as frequently that they are.
The sales for May may be the same as April since the supply and demand for these two top vehicles does not show any signs of letting up any time soon. Despite having raised the prices of their vehicles by 6%, consumers are still wanting these higher end vehicles. Perhaps, wanting to obtain as much bang for their buck as possible with their new vehicle.
