Ford Issues F-150 Recalls
Ford has released a recall that is going to affect quite a few people in North America. The company is recalling around 363,000 F-150 pick up trucks, which is the most popular selling full-size Ford vehicle to date. The recall is being issued for problems that the door handles seem to be having. However, luckily the recall is not being issued because there were accidents involving the recall, but rather something that the company found themselves.
The recall affects 2009 and 2010 F-150 trucks that were made from January of 2008 to November of 2009. The handle on the truck becomes lose and if the truck is involved in a crash, the door could fly open and cause further damage to the driver and all those involved in the accident.
Ford is asking that those with these trucks who are noticing that their door handle seems to be loose or has difficulty performing well that they go ahead and bring the truck in for mechanics to fix. However, those that are showing no problems as of yet are being asked to wait until they are informed by Ford of where to go and when to go. Ford is waiting for the additional parts to come in to replace the door handles on all those that are affected, and will be paying for this out of their own pocket since it was a defect that is to blame on the company.
Ford has been rejoicing in the past year that they have had as they fought their way through debt and began to sell more cars and trucks. This latest news is sure to dampen their day as it points out that they should be spending more time with quality inspection of the vehicles. However, Ford probably has nothing to worry about when it comes to loyal customers turning away since the company did notify of the recall early and the recall is not involved in any incidents.
