Ford Has Small Set Back with F-150’s
Ford has announced that the shipment of many of the new 2011 F-150 Pickup trucks is going to be delayed. Ford company has saw an increase in sales in the recent months, however, many are worried that this little set back will affect sales. Though, most professionals are not seeing this as a problem, simply because Ford has some technology that drivers are looking for. For example, the new 2011 F-150 Pickup truck is utilizing a more gas efficient engine when compared to other trucks on the market. A huge plus for those that are trying to save money at the pump. The new engines are supposed to get around 23 miles per gallon on the highway and 16 miles per gallon in the city. Which is very decent gas mileage for a full size truck. They are planning to increase gas mileage by offering a different engine size into 2012 models of the pick up truck.
The shipment of these new trucks are being delayed due to a shortage of parts, however, Ford has not specified what parts they are waiting on to complete the trucks. They did mention that the majority of these trucks are still shipping out, it is only a small percentage that is being postponed, however no exact number was given as to how many trucks were affected. Which makes professionals even more certain that Ford will not see any backlash because of this incident.
With all of the changes that Ford is introducing to their models, they are sure to have another banner year for 2011. However, many are concerned that Ford has not advantage of the electric concept. But, in the defense of Ford, they are still selling an amazing number of vehicles each year, plus the electric car concept has yet to catch on with consumers, so who knows where the public will stand with this concept in a few months.
