GM Flourishes Overseas
For years when someone uttered the words 'General Motors' most people automatically conjured up images of the all-American car brand. Things like tire swings, white picket fences, and apple pie were what popped into people's minds. However, things are a bit different now. General Motors is developing more of a global image rather than focusing on America only, however, this move is as much of a necessity as it is something that the company wants to do.
When an automaker has other countries that are loyal to their brand, they greatly improve their chances of selling more vehicles. For instance, take the bad economy that made GM vehicles almost vanish in the United States, while they were still able to get other countries, like China to engulf the idea of driving GM vehicles. In fact, right now all of the GM brands are finding it harder and harder to keep up with the demand that people want their vehicles in China. The best selling GM brand in China is the Buick brand, which almost got cut when GM found that they were having a hard time making ends meet, however, luckily for them they didn't, because it is this brand that has really paved the way for GM overseas.
However, what many people are wondering is if the GM brand is going to see as much success in the United States because of this decision and overseas success? This is a hard question to answer. There are going to be those that may feel as if GM is catering their vehicles to those overseas, thus the brand could see its devoted US followers dwindle. However, there are going to be those that are not going to really care that the company is having such success overseas. But, it was vital for GM to succeed somewhere, if they hadn't, more than likely they wouldn't be around today.
