GM Partners with Powermat

Charging your cell phone while driving means that you will have to utilize the cord that is plugged into your lighter outlet in the car. While doing so, you will find that the cord wraps around the gear shift if it is located in the middle of the seats. For those that do not have this, then the cord can become wrapped around anything else that you have in the front seat. It is an annoying situation, however, what else can you do? Well, GM has came up with the solution with the help from Powermat. 

Starting in 2012, GM and Powermat have teamed up to install ways in which cell phones can be charged without the use of cords. Some people are viewing this technology as useless, however, the majority of professionals in the field say that this could revolutionize the automotive industry. If anything, those who drive these new GM vehicles are going to love the feature because it will not only charge cell phones, but it will also charge MP3 players and so forth. For the number of people who are carrying these items with them everywhere, this is going to be great news. 

Powermat will probably also reap the benefits from this collaboration since it will mean that more people are going to be introduced to their products, plus they will want to have them in their home. So they will see sales rise. But, will the public be glad to have this technology in their vehicles? 

For those that utilize their phone for everything, they will enjoy the charging station simply because they may use the phone so much that they run the charge down constantly. For others, it may seem as though the technology is just too luxurious to have in vehicles. One thing is for certain, it is going to be the first of its type, which means that everyone is going to want to at least try it out.
