Honda and Chrysler Add to Recall List

It seems that everyday in the automotive world, there is a new manufacturer that is releasing a recall for their vehicles, and today is no exception. Both Honda and Chrysler are releasing recalls that are expected to go into affect and become fixed later this month.

Honda is recalling 36,656 Honda Civics that are the 2006 and 2007 year that may have the problem of stalling and not restarting. The culprit for this problem? The voltage converter seems to be faulty in that the converter is not transporting signals to the engine or the headlights. This could mean that while going down the road the person could lose power and the engine completely quit with no hope of starting back up for the driver. The company has said that they will be replacing the voltage converter for free for those that have Honda Civic's that are affected.

Chrysler is recalling 20,459 Jeep Wranglers that are reportedly having issues with the fasteners that are holding the front and rear axle attachments to the chassis. If these were to become loose the person could find themselves having a lot of noise while they are driving, or even have the steering on the Wrangler impaired which could lead to an accident. The Wrangler's being affected are those that were built in 2010 and 2011, however, there are only a few certain ones within these years that are being affected. Those that were built from July of 2010 to September 2010 seem to be the only ones that are being affected. For those that do have affected vehicles, Chrysler is replacing the nineteen fasteners on the attachments in order to ensure that it does not become loose.

With all the recalls that have come in since the start of the year, the public is worried about which vehicle will be next. However, the good news is that with Honda and Chrysler there has been no accidents reported that have been caused by the recalls, they are just making a preemptive strike before anything disastrous happens.
