Honda Issues Recall for Fit

It seems that all news in the automotive sector is dealing with the reveal of new vehicles, as well as new recalls being issued every day at a rapidly increasing rate. Honda can now add itself to the list of those that are recalling vehicles. According to Honda, the company will be recalling around 1.35 million Fit cars globally. Around 143,000 of that 1.35 million will involve recalls in the United States. While, Japan will have the most recalls since the Honda Fit is the second best selling car there.

The recall is nothing that is life-threatening thankfully and involves faulty wiring in the headlights. Honda will simply redo the wiring on these cars and everything should be fine. There has been no reports of this recall causing a problem. However, if the lights were to shut off while driving at night, it could be the recipe for disaster, hence the recall.

There has been no data released yet what the recall will cost in the United States for Honda. However, in Japan Honda is expected to spend around $43 million to repair all the Fit's associated with the recall.

This is disturbing news at a time when many professionals say that Honda is lacking and is slowly becoming a past automaker. However, even with the recall affecting these vehicles, it still leaves the Honda Civic as a popular choice for consumers, which means that the Honda company should not suffer that much in regards to sales. Nor do most people believe that this will tarnish the reputation of the Honda motor company. This is good news for Honda, as many other companies who have been issuing recalls are going to suffer from the consequences of having to issue a recall. The prime example of this is Toyota, who are still in court with the cases related to the brake recall issued last year.
