Honda Revamps Civic
Honda has said that it plans to include natural gas powered Civics's to the public in all fifty states starting next year. However, this is not a new concept for Honda, as they have provided natural gas powered cars to the government for the past few years. But, many people are concerned about having a Honda Civic that utilizes natural gas in order to operate.
For starters, natural gas is highly flammable thus many consumers are worried what will happen when the car is involved in a crash? In addition, is having a car using natural gas really going to make that big of a difference? The way in which the automaker is making sure that the car is as safe as possible on the road is making sure that the holding tank for the natural gas is reinforced so that if it is hit, it does not bust and explode, it should hold up or in worst case scenarios, the tank becomes cracked. Those cars that do use natural gas are a great option to fossil fuels since it produces less emissions than a typical car running off of gasoline. In addition, the natural gas that is used in these vehicles more than likely comes from North America, since that is where the bulk of the natural gas is found.
Honda is also releasing a gas hybrid version of the Civic as well, that is supposed to be released in the spring of this year. Both of these upgrades to the Civic is the automakers answer to many professionals feeling as if the Civic was outdated. The new hybrid Civic has been given a look that is more aerodynamic and just overall different from pass versions of the Civic. Overall, Honda did prove that the Civic is in the market to stay and with versatile options that are being offered, consumers are going to be very happy with what they have.
