New Mini to Debut at Detroit Auto Show

The Detroit Auto Show is next month and at the show people are anticipating some great new designs and concepts from automakers. A sneak peek at one of the cars that will be displayed at the auto show is the new two door Mini. This car will be called the Paceman. The car is essentially a crossover from the Countryman, that has four doors and is the newest edition to the Mini line that is expected to go on sale early next year. However, the Paceman has not been approved for production yet, as the company is still waiting to see how it will be received by those at the Detroit Auto Show.

Looks wise, the Paceman is very similar to the Countryman in the front end. The doors are much longer since there are only two, and the back end has a new look. The new rear end is to give the car a more sporty appeal since the car is considered more oriented towards the individual and not the family. Plus, the designers of the Paceman wanted to make the car look a bit stronger and fierce than other Mini's that have been produced, thus the car is a bit wider than the Countryman.

Under the hood, the Paceman will be running a 1.6 liter, turbocharged four cylinder engine. The standard for many vehicles offered by Mini. The car is expected to have around 211 horsepower. However, given the small engine, gas mileage should be something that is going to impress those that would be interested in owning a Paceman, as do all of the vehicles that Mini produces.

What does the company believe that the feedback will be on this new vehicle? With most of the world trying to find cars that produce less emissions and are not consuming fossil fuels, this new Mini is likely to not register very high on the scales at this point, just because it is not one of the vehicles that are following the trend. However, for those Mini fans out there, this could be a great vehicle to own.
