Passat Lowers Price

The redesigned Passat was meant to compete with other mid size sedans on the market such as the Ford Fusion and the Honda Civic. And in terms of size and gas mileage, perhaps the Passat was considered the best or was at least included in the running for the best. However, when it came to price, the Passat for 2010 was nowhere near competitive enough for the other cars in the mid size market. This is why Volkswagen has announced that they will be dropping the cost of the Passat by around $7,000. This is going to make the price of the Passat in better comparison with the other top selling models in the mid size section.

This price reduction is going to have the 2012 Passat costing around $20,765 which includes the standard version and shipping costs that may be incurred. Those that are interested can expect to find this model available this fall. The 2012 Passat was designed with US drivers in mind, which can be seen with the details of the car and the price of the car. They are going to be made in the new plant in Chattanooga, Tennessee. When you compare the new Passat to the older models, people are going to find that they are longer and wider, having more leg room for the driver and passengers. The intention of VW with the Passat is to make it more appealing to those that they are looking for a mid size sedan. However, they are also wanting to state that VW is back in the United States and is thriving and ready for business. Will the Passat live up to the expectations that they have set?

It is hard to tell as of right now. However, with the price reduction, more and more people may start to consider the Passat since it may mean that they are getting a better engineered car for the price that they are paying.
