Small Cars are not Wanted by Some

Small cars are something that we are constantly hearing about in the news and so forth. More and more automakers are producing these small cars in order to encourage people to be more environmentally friendly, however, are their actions really worth the money that they are investing in order to get the cars produced? Most are quick to point out that many of the small cars on the market are nice for those that can fit into these, however, consider the rate of obesity in the United States is at an all time high and people are going to find that these people are not wanting small cars. Basically because it is a tight fit and is uncomfortable to say the least.

 

Add into the fact that many smaller people do not feel comfortable in driving these smaller cars simply because they fear that if they were to get into an accident that they would basically end up getting severely hurt or killed because they are driving a small car. This is why more people are wanting those light trucks and SUV's, and the bigger sedans in order to feel more comfortable and safe. However, most people are arguing that the safety standards of the smaller cars are improving and people can feel just as safe with these smaller cars as they do with the bigger vehicles. However, when it comes to the reality of what people are thinking, they are still leaning towards bigger vehicles. 

 

This is bad news for those that companies that are wanting to push their smaller cars. However, with the rising gas prices, some people are going to go against what they feel is the best and end up buying these small cars just because they cannot afford gas. But, most researchers are thinking that people who are simply not comfortable in these smaller cars are going to pay the higher price for gas no matter how high it gets.
