Suppliers for Audi Not Performing Well
The CEO of Audi has stated that the company is still not where they want to be in terms of supply that they have located throughout the world. In fact, the company states that all around the world they only have a supply of cars that would last around 14 days, not the usual 30 that they aim for at dealers. The question is, why is this occurring?
Audi is blaming its suppliers for the shortage of materials to build the cars, stating that those companies that supply the car maker did not come out of the financial crisis in 2009 as well as Audi did. Because their suppliers are not able to perform at the same level of Audi, the car maker is paying for the problem. Many wonder if this is going to affect their sales for the rest of the year?
The auto maker does believe that they will continue to see a shortage of supplies throughout 2011 for at least the next few months, until their suppliers are able to get back into the groove of things. However, that has not stopped Audi from setting to some extremely high sales goals in the United States and other parts of the world for the upcoming years. They plan to sell around 160,000 vehicles in the United States by 2015, which is an increase of around 50,000 cars from the numbers that they currently move in the US. They also plan to dominate the world market even more with the introduction of hybrid cars to first, the European market, then the US and China in the following two years.
However, will these kind of goals be attainable with suppliers dwindling in their performance? That is the question that most people are asking themselves. With thee suppliers not able to perform, it does hamper Audi slightly. However, they are now focusing their time on the hybrid vehicles, thus they may be using a new set of suppliers altogether.
