Tato Nano Upgrade Being Given to Consumers

The Tato Nano is the cheapest car that any automaker is offering currently. However, with the price comes a few aspects that people will just have to get used to in order to get this low price. For example, the Nano can seat four, however, most people view this car as more of a two seater. In fact, many people have referred to it as the clown car in which you see at a circus. However, the biggest sacrifice that consumers will have to make in order to get into this car is the chance of it catching on fire. 

Tato is offering those Nano owners out there an upgrade to the electrical and exhaust system to prevent any malfunction from happening. This was the companies decision after a series of Nano's caught fire, many of them being video taped and leaked onto the Internet for all to see. However, Tato is not calling this a recall on their vehicle, perhaps not wanting to spark panic like past automakers have done. 

However, one look at the many videos on the Internet, and anyone who believes that this upgrade is not mandatory should take a long, hard look at the video. The Nano was literally engulfed in flames within minutes, and if anyone was driving, there would have been little time for them to escape. The car literally melts onto itself as the flames keep raging upwards. 

The upgrade is going to be free to all those who have purchased their Nano since July 2009. Tatoa estimates that around 70,000 Nano's will need to equipped with the upgrade. With all the media being focused on the price and the problems that the Nano is having, it has led many people to wonder, is cheaper better? In the case of the Nano, it could be a death trap waiting to happen. However, Tato ensures consumers that the problem is being fixed and will not occur again in future models.
