The 2010 Citroen C4 II
The Citroen C4 is the best selling car model in French, which replaced the Xantia and in 2010, it undergoes a major facelift. It is almost an all new car model, including a few chassis modifications.
It is slightly longer (5 cm), wider (2 cm), higher (3 cm) and with 408 liters of luggage capacity (88 liters more) compared to the original C4. It is produced only in five-door configuration, in 2011, the coupe version of Citroen C4 II will be replaced by the DS4.
The biggest changes are in the interior, including the steering wheel, which no longer has a fixed, non-rotating core. Citroën says it has saved 7 lbs in weight.
It’s powered by 1.6l VTi 120hp turbo engine with 5-speed manual transmission or 1.6l THP 156hp engine with a 6-speed variable automatic transmission. There is also a hybrid version with e-HDi technology, equipped with the latest generation Stop & Start system and CO2 emissions of 109 grams per kilometer. It uses the new Michelin Saver EnergyTM tires, which allow the hybrid version to reduce CO2 emissions by more than 5 grams.
The new C4 offers unique features, including for safety purposes, such as Bosch monitoring system to improve visibility despite blind spots, regulator (speed limiter), and eTouch, an innovative service that includes emergency call system.
To improve comfort, Citroen C4 II incorporates convenient seating and massage functions for front seat passengers. The indoor environment is customizable (including choices on colors of the dashboard, sounds system, and air conditioning intensity).
It is available in three versions:
Business version, which includes ABS with electronic brakeforce distribution, electronic stability control, hill start assistance, intelligent traction control, 6 air bags (front and side), cruise control, speed limiter (used mainly in urban areas), air conditioning, chilled glovebox, electric windows, gear shift indicator for manual gearboxes, electric mirrors, radio with 6 speakers, MP3 and audio jack, central locking system with remote control, 15-inch wheels and powered with a 1.6l 120 hp gasoline engine, it is sold for EUR 15,000.
Sports versions, is designed upon the Business version plus climate control, programmed speed control, foglights, cornering light, Bluetooth headset and USB ports, sequential rear electric windows, customizable polyphonic sounds, leather steering wheel, electric parking brake (only in automatic transmission models), refrigerated compartment, sliding center armrest, repainting on rear side windows and rear window, rear spoiler, and 16-inch wheels.
Exclusive version adds to the above with ‘eTouch’ diagnostic system, automatic electric parking brake system, blind spot monitoring, parking aid with distance measurement, massage function on front seats, 230V power outlet, folding door mirrors with side illuminators, rear center armrest, portable 12 volt lamp socket, front and rear bumpers with chrome inserts, 17-inch alloy wheels and upholstery fabric and leather.
