Toyota Announces More Recalls
Toyota has announced that they will be recalling around 45,500 Highlander SUV's, while also recalling 36,700 Lexus RX 400h SUV's as well. The main problem with all of these SUV's is the fact that it would seem some of the transistors were not adequately soldered together. The SUVs are those that are between the year 2005 and 2006. These recalls are going to be taking effect in the United States, and there are some that are affected in Canada, Puerto Rico and Guam.
There are the same models that are affected in Japan, which will result in Toyota recalling around 11,164 units being recalled. There are also the 15,000 of the same units are being recalled in Europe. All of the same problems are being fixed.
Toyota is working to get the parts and supplies that will be needed to fix this problem. They expect that they will have the right supplies and everything in order to start fixing the problems by the middle of July. It is unclear how long it will take for the Toyota repairmen to fix the problem for each individual model that is affected. They expect to be notifying consumers with affected vehicles in the next few weeks to set up repair dates.
These vehicles were made during the time in which Toyota did not have third current global safety precautions in place. The company has now set up many different goals in order to make sure that all the vehicles being produced are now passing their new safety standards and so forth. This was due to the massive recalls that the company had in the past two years that has tarnished the reputation of the Toyota company, while also costing them quite a bit of money in court dates and settlements that they have paid out. These newest recalls may not affect the company too bad since they were before the strict regulations in place now.
