Toyota Recalls SUV’s

Toyota has released yet another recall. And this one is affected their highly popular RAV4 and Highlander SUV's. This recall is dealing with the curtain air bags, they have found that the sensor could become damaged and end up having the air bag to inflate, even without the impact of an accident, which could cause an accident due to the driver being surprised and perhaps even injured when these air bags do deploy. Those vehicles being affected are from the 2007 and 2008 years of manufacturing.

There are going to be approximately 214,000 RAV4's being recalled, while 94,000 Highlanders, making the total around 308,000. Though this is nothing near to what the company has recalled beforehand, it is still cause for alarm for many people who have these vehicles. The owners of these vehicles are starting to get notified, however, for those that think that they have a problem they are urged to call their local dealer and have the vehicle checked out. One way in which people are going to be able to tell that they do have the problem is that the air bag lights are going to come on and stay on. This is signaling that the air bag sensors have gone bad and it is warning that service is needed. If you own one of these and are having this, the person should have it checked out immediately as they do not want to be driving down the road and the air bag deploy.

After notifying owners, they plan to have the SUV's in to fix them. Though they have not announced whether they will pay for this or not. However, with it being an official recall, more than likely they will pay for this since it is the fault of the parts that they are not working properly. The process of fixing should involve switching out the two sensors that are causing the air bag problems.
