Upcoming Cars for 2011

For this upcoming year, there are going to be quite a few cars on the market for consumers to choose from. The cars from 2010 are going to be available in newer years, however, there are many cars that are getting a complete makeover for 2011, and will have an incredibly new feel to them for those that are interested. Each automaker is trying to bring their 'A' game, as they are feeling the crunch of consumers not spending as much for their vehicles, so now automakers are trying to make their new cars something that consumers cannot live without. 

 

The first on the list for upcoming cars in 2011 is the new Volkswagen Passat. Though this car has been around for a few years, this year it is getting a new makeover that is taking it from a small car to a mid size car, allowing it to compete with other popular middle class cars. The Passat will feature a longer body than the previous generation, as well as being slightly wider. The main thing that is going to make the Passat a great selling middle class car is that it will have all the luxuries that VW has to offer, but still be in a price range that people can afford. For those Beetle fans out there, there should be a new version of the Beetle released at the end of 2011 for the 2012 year, however, no official details have been released yet. 

 

Chrysler is also reintroducing the 300M to the market. It has always been available, however, this year it is getting a complete face lift, one that many agree the car needed. The car will have a much better looking body that is going to be bigger than past 300's. The most notable feature of the 300M is that it is going to have to be the slue of safety feature, including the ability to have sensors on every wheel in order to make sure that the drive is as good as it can get. Chrysler is hoping that the 300M will put them back on top as one of the best automakers in the United States as their 2010 year did not do as good as they had initially predicted. 

 

This year Chevrolet will be introducing a variety of new vehicles to the market. The Spark is designed as a smaller car than the Aveo that they currently offer, which means even better fuel mileage for those that are interested. While they are also introducing the Cruze that will replace the Cobalt. The Cruze will offer more space and basically be a more practical car for those that are interested. However, probably the most talked about new car being offered by Chevrolet is the Volt. The Volt is already known throughout the world as one of the first electric cars that are going to be offered to consumers. The Volt has already won various awards form auto shows all over the world, and is sure to be one of the cars that companies and businesses look towards in order to fill their need for company vehicles. 

 

For 2011, Audi is introduced the completely redesigned R8 Spyder that they hope will meet the needs of customers much better. However, probably the most notable new car that Audi is coming out with is the completely new A7 Sportback. The A7 is set to go on sale in Europe this year, however, the US is going to have to wait a bit longer to see the A7 in action, as sources say that it will not be released until late 2011 or early 2012. The Sportback will be direct competition for Mercedes-Benz CLS and those in the field are ecstatic to see just how well the Sportback will do. 

 

Bentley is offering three new cars for 2011, the Mulsanne, the Continental Supersports Coupe, and the Supersports. All three cars are performance driven cars, and do boast a hefty price tag. However, that is the name of Bentley. The three cars are becoming fast favorites of those who get the opportunity to test drive them. 

 

Ford is on a roll this year with what they will be offering consumers, this could be the first indication that Ford once again is the reigning automaker. First off, the 2012 Ford Focus will be available in 2011 for consumers to purchase. Recently the car has gained quite a bit of attention as it has been using recycled materials to construct some of the car. For example, blue jeans are placed in the floorboards and in the doors to allow no outside noise to penetrate into the interior, while they are also using parts that were used to clean up the oil spill in the Gulf Coast, really adding to the green concept that the world wants. In addition, Ford will be offering the all new Explorer that utilizes the Eco Boost technology that means more gas mileage from an SUV, something that competitors have yet to accomplish. Recently, the Explorer was named Truck of the Year at the Detroit Auto Show, the Eco Boost definitely helped the SUV to win that award, and may be the reason that many more people purchase an Explorer this ear. 

 

Hyundai is releasing quite a few new vehicles that are variants of their predecessors. For example, the Sonata is being released with turbocharged and hybrid versions. The Equus will also make its debut in the United States this year. This car is much bigger than the Genesis and is considered more luxurious. Hyundai is hoping to appeal to a different demographic with the introduction of this car. 

 

Mitsubishi is releasing the Outlander Sport this year that is a smaller version of the current Outlander. The new version will be much smaller and get even better gas mileage with approximately 30 miles per gallon on the highway. However, still have the rugged looks that people want in the Outlander. 

 

For Nissan, the Leaf is going to be one of the most highly anticipated cars. The Leaf is in direct competition with the Chevrolet Volt, both having won various awards for being the electric cars that they are and just ahead of the competition in terms of technology. The car has zero emissions and can be charged at home for approximately eight hours. Nissan will also be releasing the Juke, which is a crossover based off of the Versa's platform and one that those looking for an SUV are going to want to try out. 

 

Kia will be making a few changes to the already existing vehicles in their lineup to compete within the market better. The acclaimed Forte will be introduced to the market as a hatchback option for those that are interested. While the Optima will be getting a slight face lift in order to compete more effectively with the competition. The Sportage is also taking a few changes to bring with it into the 2011 market. Consumers are going to have the option of choosing a Sportage that is turbo injected as well as the usual engine. 

 

For Honda, all of the spotlight has been on the introduction of the CR-Z, which is considered a sport hybrid car. The car is considered a hatchback and does offer a way to go green with the electrical system in the car. In addition, Honda has also made some changes to the Accord and Fit Sport. The Odyssey is also getting a few changes as it becomes shorter, but wider, with all the extras for those that are looking for a minivan that has it all. 

 

Mazda will be introducing the Mazda2, which is going to have the automaker stepping into the small car auto world. The car has actually been in other countries since 2007, however, this is its first venture into the US market. The Mazda6 also got a few minor changes done to it, including new headlights, a rear back up camera and so on to make it stand out against the competition. 

 

Scion which aligns itself with teens in the world, is introducing a new model for 2011 called the iQ. The iQ is smaller than the Fiesta or Fit, however, still larger than the Smart car. Overall, the iQ is going to appeal to teens and college students since it gets excellent fuel mileage and still looks edgy and young, with just enough room for two. 

 

The cars that are new to the market in 2011 are all offering something different and unique. However, the main goal of the cars being released this year is fuel economy. Missing from the list of automakers that are producing new cars for 2011 is Toyota, who have not made any major changes to their lineup this year. However, they are promising a few surprises for next year. Overall, 2011 is going to be a year in which competition is fierce and the consumers are bombarded with unlimited choices that may make it hard to choose their new vehicle.
