Volvo Rethinks Sales in US
Volvo has been experiencing decreases in sales in the past few years in the United States. In order to combat this problem, the auto maker has decided that they will offer less vehicles in the United States to only offer the best selling models that people are purchasing in the United States. However, most people are wondering which vehicles are going to get the axe?
There has not been an official list released yet, however, Volvo has said that they will only offer five or six models in the United States once everything is said and done. However, the company did say that the V50 station wagon will be on the list to be gone. The company says that this is due to people no longer buying wagons, but looking at crossover SUV's instead. The company did say that they plan to spend some time on promoting the S60 sedan, XC60 crossover and the XC90 crossover that are more catered to what those in the United States are looking for.
Volvo has planned to start the marketing for their new S60 sedan very soon and are hoping that the new marketing campaign will draw in more customers. In the past, Volvo has been a great seller simply due to their dedication to safety, however, more and more car makers are making their vehicle safer, thus the appeal that Volvo once had is slightly diminishing. Another reason why the automaker has seen their sales fall in the recent years.
In future plans, Volvo does plan to introduce a few diesel ran vehicles as well as those hybrids and completely electrical vehicles. However, they have set no time frame as to when these kinds of vehicles will be released, just stating in the near future as the time frame.
Volvo has always been a trusted brand, however, with the new sales and marketing approach that they are taking, they will more than likely find that they are not losing so much in the United States auto market as past years.
