Volvo Technology Astounding
Volvo has long been known for its great advances on the technology line, and the new technology that they are working on is going to be some of the best that they have ever developed. This new technology has the potential to save hundreds of people from accidents each and every year in which their cars usually get totaled, and in many occasion they end up with a few cuts and bruises. This technology is going to help the cars to come to a complete stop in the event that wild animals are in front of the car. This may sound as though it is something that the person should already do. However, in most cases in which people hit wild animals, the reason that they hit these animals is because it is dark or to the point that it makes it harder to see, their headlights illuminate these animals for only a few seconds until they hit them, thus they really never had a chance to stop.
The new technology that Volvo is still in the process of tweaking to get it to its best ability. However, thus far we know that it contains two aspects that are working with the car. First, there is an infra red camera that is constantly monitoring the traffic situation, while there is also a sensor that is working to catch anything that may be a danger. If the camera sees something that is a potential threat, there is a buzzing alarm that sounds, which warns the driver to start applying their brakes. If the driver does not respond in a timely manner, the brakes are automatically pressed for them and the car starts to slow down. According to Volvo, right now the technology is being used to help stop these types of accidents, but it is good for people to know that in many cases they may be going too fast to completely stop the accident, though, the technology should help the person to slow down to minimize the impact.
So just what kind of animals are the system going to be scanning for?
Right now, the technology is being focused on those rather large wild animals, such as deer and a moose since these types of animals have been known to cause the most damage to the vehicle and those that are in the vehicle with eh driver. The first stage for this technology is animals, but the public is well-aware of what this type of technology could offer in the future. Consider a car that sees that the person is about to hit someone that they cannot see and the brakes are automatically applied? The same can be said of any type of collision that the person could be involved in, this technology could lower the number of accidents by a huge percentage.
Right now, Volvo has not announced when this technology is going to be placed on the new vehicles, but the consumer market is eager to see it. And this may help to increase the number of people that buy Volvo, thanks to this huge safety net that is going in its place.
