VW Microbus Back on the Market
The VW Microbus is one of those vehicles that people see and automatically know what it is. In its own way the microbus is a legend. Tens years ago the company hinted that they would be remaking the microbus, however scrapped the project after some time. Now, it seems that the project is in full swing and this time, it is going to succeed. The new Microbus that seats six is going to be making its debut at the Geneva Auto Show, and it is one that most people are looking forward to.
What is even more is this vehicle is electric, which is going to win it some stares and gawks automatically from the automotive world. VW states that the microbus can run around 186 miles on the 40 watt electric engine. What is more is that the battery can be recharged in less than an hour. Plus, the top speed for the microbus is around eighty seven miles per hour, while the bus can go from zero to sixty miles per hour in 11.5 seconds.
VW is also pointing out that a small gasoline or diesel engine can also be placed in the microbus, which could mean that those that are driving these could get a few more miles with this option. So how does this new microbus compare to the old microbus? The newer version is a bit shorter, not as long and is wider. However, styling wise, people are still going to see some resemblance of the old VW microbus to the new since many styling cues were taken from the old for the new. The microbus also contains a way in which the person can hook an iPod up to with the controls being very accessible on the steering wheel.
Will the Microbus from VW be another hit for the automaker? There are those that either love or hate the concept, but given how people wanted, more than likely this is going to be another hit.
